The Hofstra Spirit Teams—Dance, Cheerleading, and Pep Band—are at the heart of Hofstra’s school pride, providing energy and support at university events, athletic games, and beyond. These teams exemplify dedication, talent, and passion, inspiring both the campus and the community.
Dance Team
Led by Head Coach Kelly Olsen-Leon and Assistant Coaches Kristen Olsen, Danielle Bradle, and April Gallagher, the Hofstra University Dance Team (HUDT) consists of 27 motivated and hardworking athletes. Known for their excellence, HUDT has earned 11 national championships and 2 world championships. Beyond competition, the team brings incredible school spirit to university events and proudly represents the Pride wherever they go.
Cheerleading
The Hofstra University Cheerleading Team, under the guidance of Coaches Christine Farina and Matt Jones, is a powerhouse of spirit and skill. One of the top competitive cheer programs in the nation, the team has earned 11 national titles, 2 partner stunt titles, 6 World University titles, and 2 international titles. Whether cheering on our athletes or competing on the world stage, they exemplify Hofstra Pride.
Pep Band
The Hofstra University Pep Band unites a diverse group of talented student musicians to create an exciting and supportive atmosphere at Hofstra events. Known for their high-energy performances, they bring music and enthusiasm to every on- and off-campus event they attend.
