About

The Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship program was created by Hofstra Law to develop the next generation of leaders in Family Law. Its goal is to provide a strong foundation for our students to become effective advocates, members of the bar and/or the judiciary, legislators and/or non-profit family law leaders who will work collaboratively with those from related disciplines to improve the family court system in the United States.

The unpaid public interest summer internships enable the Fellows to integrate the practical experience of full-time public interest work with their formal legal training and provide them with special opportunities to work with nonprofit or government agencies in the child and family advocacy area.

Fellows receive a summer stipend from Hofstra Law to help cover/defray the cost of their basic living expenses while participating in this beneficial summer learning experience. A $60,000 budget is needed annually to support eight (8) Child and Family Advocacy fellows and provide them with opportunities to advocate for children and families in communities in New York and across the country.

The Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship program could use your help in getting funding for this initiative. A gift of $7,500 will provide a stipend for one student fellow.

Please support the Child and Family Advocacy Fellowship with your gift TODAY.
